As a Black fashion designer it is a pleasure to know that their is a place for you in the fashion world. I am not talking designer who became designers and pay other people to desiner for them I talking about black designers that made a name for them self in the fashion world. It reading these designers stories that keep me going and move forward and help me when I feeling down and things or not going they way I feel they should. These or the black designers that went before and help open doors so I have a chance to make my dream come true. I just have to say thank you to all those listed below and for the ones that or not listed thank you too, because I would not this drean if it was not for you I take my hat off to you.

I know some you may saud that some of these designers don't design any more or they sole their line, and I say that don't matter because they or still designer by trade an that's huge for an black designer

I not saying that other designers or not good I just want to give some love to black esigner because the only one we hear about is signers or acter an they only came out with clothing because of there name. I talking anout designers who put in years and hatd work to become a designers.

Aprons

I've been working on these apron to sale at beauty colleges and salon and finally I have tested them out got some customers. Now tonight I have to a new patch of them take a look at some of my designs for salons and beauty college I embark on making some make brush holier which came out really good. My daughter goes to beauty school and has been my walking model. I also has decided to go back to the flea markets on the weekend so I can do a little marketing for myself.

I have a fashion show that my designs or going to be in and I have been reworking my designs to make sure they or what I like and they or what people will want to buy.

I'm still working as a substance abuse counselor but my goal is to still change careers. I am working on an action plan so once I change career I don't have any regrets because I know as a designers things want happen over night.

I have been reading stories on other fashion designer and seeing how they got start an what was there up and down. I also have been working with Score on line and I finally got a rough draft of my business plan. I know that before anything can happen I must have a business plan and collection put together in order to get the ball running. I also plan to keep everyone posted on the good and bad of my road from rags to riches.

As I was saying in my last post I was thinking about a new look for myself and here's some looks I thinking about with some major changes to suit me

Rock the Runway fasion show

I was in a fashion show this weekend called Rock the Runway producted by Mario B. out of Oakland. I was the closing act as always I used a lot of color an I designed street wear this time. I also designed 20 outfits in a week because I change my line up, after I find out that I was the closing act. The show was off the hook and there was so many good models there. I also met some new designer too.

If I had to change anything about my designs I would have made more pants because their was not enough pants in my line.

Anyway that was my weekend, I must say I love every fashion show I do with Mario B.

A new day

Its 7:11am I am up and having a little to eat so I can begin my day. First of my to do list is to get all the fabric that I will be using in my new collection together and the thread. I have to get started on making PJ's because I am doing a shop until you drop event next month. I will also be selling hat's for kids. I have to start bring in some extra money so I can buy a new sewing machine. I also have to get my sewing room in order because it look like Joann fabric right after a big sale on fabricn. I feel like I have so much to do and no time for myself. but as you know when your starting a business on a low budget you have little time for your life. I look forward to posting some of my new items but I will post some of my pld designs for you all to see

Thank you for stopping by my blog. Lately I have beem really thinking about a life shange and I believe this is the best time to do it since I have been took off of work for medical reason, I have been feeling like i new to change from the inside out you know what I mean a total make over.

I decided that first thing first I will start with hair style and make up so everyday I am going to make it a point to get and do my hair and make up. It been a while since I got everyday and made sure my hair, make an clothes was at there best. Somethin g change for me over the years an I don't know what happen but I am going to stop trying to find out what happen because I kmow now that trying to find out why is keeping at the same point in life and I am not moving fora woith life or my career.
So I have started working on my slef and not everyone else. Its harder than I thought because who really wnat to look insie them self and find out they nee to do a complete 360 degree change.

Some people may say why is she talking about this on her blog an I say because I know that I am not the only woman out there that feel like there life is not going any where. I hope what I have wrote would help someone.

I use to say that I working on begin a fashion designer so its cool to wear jeans and tees all the time but its not cool to wear jeans and tees to the point were you don't feel comfortable in anything else.

So were do I start, well I feel for me getting a hair style that really work well for me is first I will find two or three style that brings out the beauty in me. Then I will start with make-up, color the will help with the rings from my glasses. Than I will start working on my clothing I mean fashion style


It is my plan to work in m blog everyday.

Dreams

It is my dream to be launch my clothing line at he begin of the new year, to start giving fashion show and deswigning wedding dresses. I feel that I havew a good start to making my dreams come true. I have alreay started working on pattern and looking into venues in my area to give fashion shows. I'm not trying to be this bug fashion shoiw proucer I just want to promoto my line in the area I live in were there is a customer base for me.

I also have another dream that I have been running from but I know its time to take charge and follow my dreams.
