I am working on my first collection to be sold. I am really exited it but I did not know how much work go into starting a fashion business. I have been working hard almost everyday for the last four months. I started working on my business before that bu promoting myself and business in fashion shows and other events. My view was to promote business and talent for a years and then start my business but once I start to work on my business I realized that there is so many things that I have to do before I even open a online store. But I did set up a web site just for people to be able to see what my style is and I am on facebook, twitter, myspace and styleportoflio and a name of other site were I post my profile to promote my business.


I have completed my business plan and I a business counselor look it over and as you know I had some changes that needed to be made and I made them and now I am still working on my line sheets, look book and logo and on and on. But I must say that I have learn so much about business and why all these things are needed. They are needed in order for me to stay in business for the long run because so many fashion designers bomb out because there have not plan in advance.

I feel that if I have all the business paperwork in order and I have a business counselor and mentor I should have a lasting relationship with the fashion world.

Well In have a photoshoot this weekend, a fashion show next weekend and a wedding show the next weekend, did I tell you that I am taking a full load classes at school too.

70's Fashion Show

The 70's fashion show was this weekend it was a sale out they had to turn people away at the door, the show it self was fabulous and I had a chance to network with other designers and photographer's and the models was so professional and the walk the runway like the models that be in New York. Let me tell you something else, I felt very special event if I do this show every year.

My Color

For the summer 2010 my color pallet is
Using this color pallet to showcase my beautiful designers and these color allow me to play around a little more so look for my garment in the up and coming months. I am add accessories and handbags to my collection for the summer.

How time with keeping to me schedule

Well I have been having a very hard time sticking to my schedule with school, designing, sewing and planning events. I had to do new schedule that I think will work out for me better and leave me some time to sleep,

What I decided to do is leave Monday opens for school work, Tuesday morning I will work business matter, Tuesday afternoon I will work on sewing and Wednesday morning I will working on designing and sewing and school matter, Thursday I will spend all day with designing, sewing and business matter's. Friday is a day to catch up on anything that I have not completed. Everyday IO will work on event planning because that something as close to my heart as my fashion business.


It is my plan to open my on showroom by the end of the year and that's why my schedule is so tight and leave room to play but I do play during fitting and the fashion show and I decided to do any meet and greet session that are on Sunday. Sunday will be the day the just for met accept for when business call.

Fashion Show Fitting

I am in a fashion show net weekend in Oakland CA/ I have been to two fitting and I went to one on Sunday I have 17 piece collection now I have to add 10 more that collection before Friday of this week. Its a 70's fashion show I was going to add so jumpsuit's but doing that fitting I saw that every store that's in the show have them so I decided to do shorts jumper's and mimi shirt that I don't currently have in this collections. This show is Hugh it's an annual event that put of by Mario B production.

I also am working on a braid collection that will be for sale on my web site, my wedding dresses will be in a braid show in March of this year. I must say that I am very excited about both my up and coming shows and can't wait to post the photo's from that show.

I am excited about my new venture to, which is turning my love for designing in to a full business.

Good Morning

Its an early day for me today. I have to complete my homework and make a couple of patterns, do a couple sample of line sheet's so I will be at the library early so I can focus on all the paperwork first than have lunch and set up a new schedule so everything that I need to get done can get done in a day. I not good when there is things you have to complete from the day before so you move in today
